jennet that was slated to be named Serenity,
because she was so sweet and meek. Then,
at about four days of age, a switch flipped,
and Spitfire was born. She is a pistol,
with a really heads up carriage. She knows
she is the one that should be adored. She
will make a great show jennet, with that "look
at me" attitude. Her rich red color
makes her glow in the pasture, and her
conformation is very correct.
Spitfire placed 1st in the Yearling Jennets
at the SDMS Texas Shootout.

was high selling jennet at the Great American Miniature
Donkey Sale, and now lives with Ass-Pirin

Old West Gracious Me is a 32 1/4" brown jennet, and
was sired by Country Music's Faron Young. Faron Young won
many championships while he was in Canada, and then suddenly
died, so there are not many of his children around. His
father was Country Music's George Jones. Gracie's mother
was Perfection's Essence, a 31 3/8" gray dun jennet.
Gracious Me came to us Bred to Hooves, Etc Rascal... She
had a gorgeous steel gray jack, that did well in the showring.
He was first at the Hotter than Hell NMDA show. He went
on to become a herdsire. She also had a Black/brown jack
named Fandango that is a herdsire in Fort Worth, and a
black/brown jack that could have been a herdsire, but he
went to a farm in Fredericksburg as a pet. Gracious me
has a beautiful short head, is a great mother and is easy
to get pregnant and easy to foal.
She is Bred to Hill Country Miniatures Poquito,
and she is confirmed in foal by estrone sulfate to Poquito for
a spring 2008 foal.

Brayers Are Us LN Riata is a 33" Grey Dun jennet with
sorrel highlights and ears. Her father is LN Red Sonfire,
a 31.5" sorrel jack, and her grandfather was LN Redsonnehi,
a 31.5" red jack. Her mother was LN Kota's Emmy Too,
a 33.5" grey dun jennet, and her pedigree goes back to
the Bushnell's herd. She has had three babies for us:
a black jennet (Raven)
with Quarter Moon Barney that was selected to the Ass-Pirin
Acres Select Sale, and was sent to Canada, a black/brown
jack (Phoenix) with Hill
Country Miniatures Liberty that is now a herdsire in
Texas, and a grey jennet named Magnolia with
Jimmy Dean, that has placed sixth out of 15 foals at
the June 9, 2007 NMDA Texas State Championship Miniature
donkey show. They all have been nice, but this last little
girl, Steel Magnolia, is a brick house and is definitely
show quality. Riata is a very quiet, well mannered jennet,
who handles well, and is easy to lead and trim. She has
retained her shape, with a great set of legs and teeth,
and a straight back. She is an easy breeder, easy foaler
and a great mother.
