Spitfire is a beautiful, correct showy jennet that was slated to be named Serenity, because she was so sweet and meek.  Then, at about four days of age, a switch flipped, and Spitfire was born.  She is a pistol, with a really heads up carriage.  She knows she is the one that should be adored.  She will make a great show jennet, with that "look at me" attitude.  Her rich red color makes her glow in the pasture, and her conformation is very correct.

Spitfire the was high selling jennet at the Great American Miniature Donkey Sale, and now lives with Ass-Pirin Acres Miniature Donkeys in Vermont.

Old West Del Rio is the 30.5" son of two multiple halter Champion donkeys. His father is the famous Canadian Herdsire Hooves Etc Rascal, and his mother is our very own Country Music Judy Lynn. Del Rio is the father of the 2007 National Champion jack, Hill Country Miniatures Poquito. He stamps his foals with his small size, stocky build, short head and heavy bone. We have enjoyed owning him and have retained several of his offspring, but he overlaps with two of our jacks breeding lines, therefore we have decided to sell him. We are breeding him to some of our jennets now, and he will be able to leave for his new home in August of 2009. If you want a small, proven herdsire that produces impeccable foals, Del Rio is your man.

Old West Gracious Me is a 32 1/4" brown jennet, and was sired by Country Music's Faron Young. Faron Young won many championships while he was in Canada, and then suddenly died, so there are not many of his children around. His father was Country Music's George Jones. Gracie's mother was Perfection's Essence, a 31 3/8" gray dun jennet.

Gracious Me came to us Bred to Hooves, Etc Rascal... She had a gorgeous steel gray jack, that did well in the showring. He was first at the Hotter than Hell NMDA show. He went on to become a herdsire. She also had a Black/brown jack named Fandango that is a herdsire in Fort Worth, and a black/brown jack that could have been a herdsire, but he went to a farm in Fredericksburg as a pet. Gracious me has a beautiful short head, is a great mother and is easy to get pregnant and easy to foal.

She is Bred to Hill Country Miniatures Poquito, and she is confirmed in foal by estrone sulfate to Poquito for a spring 2008 foal.

Brayers Are Us LN Riata is a 33" Grey Dun jennet with sorrel highlights and ears. Her father is LN Red Sonfire, a 31.5" sorrel jack, and her grandfather was LN Redsonnehi, a 31.5" red jack. Her mother was LN Kota's Emmy Too, a 33.5" grey dun jennet, and her pedigree goes back to the Bushnell's herd. She has had three babies for us: a black jennet (Raven) with Quarter Moon Barney that was selected to the Ass-Pirin Acres Select Sale, and was sent to Canada, a black/brown jack (Phoenix) with Hill Country Miniatures Liberty that is now a herdsire in Texas, and a grey jennet named Magnolia with Jimmy Dean, that has placed sixth out of 15 foals at the June 9, 2007 NMDA Texas State Championship Miniature donkey show. They all have been nice, but this last little girl, Steel Magnolia, is a brick house and is definitely show quality. Riata is a very quiet, well mannered jennet, who handles well, and is easy to lead and trim. She has retained her shape, with a great set of legs and teeth, and a straight back. She is an easy breeder, easy foaler and a great mother.

She is a sweet jennet, and is easy to lead, trim etc. We bought her from Diane Hawthorn about 18 months ago, and she had a nice dark brown jack for them with Stock Market's Cash Register.
Gloria's bite is great, and her topline is wonderful.

Someday's Felicianna is a 33.75" jennet that was born 04/05/93.  Feliciana has great bone, a round rump, easy going personality and is easy to get pregnant and easy to foal.

Bayou Brayers Rolex is a 31" black with cross jack that is stocky, with a straight topline, perfect bite and willing, calm personality.  He was born 2/27/04, and his father was McMillans Texas Midnight Gambler, a 32 1/2" black jackand Mini Donk Acres Chelsea, a 33 3/4" dark brown jennet.  He is show trained, and also would make a great breeding jack.

Hill Country Miniatures Afternoon Delight is a show quality, coal black jennet with no cross that was born on September 12, 2004.  She is full sister to our herdsire Liberty, and has his deep chest, round rump, and perfect bite.  Her father is the ACOSA award winning jack Millers Mr Spock, and her mother is the sister of Quarter Moon Barney.

Hill Country's Sedona

Sedona is a very short, stocky dark red jennet that was born on April 22, 2004.  She is the daughter of 758's Jahti and 2001 NMDA Reserve National Champion Jack Itsy Bitsy Burro Company LN Red Wrangler. She has a great pedigree with Red Sonfire, Redsonnehi, Winchester (Valentino 49), and Valentino 50 in her pedigree.  Her rich, dark red color and her sweet, easy going personality will be a plus in any pasture.

Hill Country's Fandango

Fandango is a very stocky, small and square black jack that is offered for sale. He was born November 5, 2004.  His mother is Old West Gracious Me, and his maternal grandfather is champion Country Music's Faron Young, with his great-grandfather being champion Country Music's George Jones. His father is our coal black champion jack Liberty, and he has Liberty's rear end, wide legset, straight topline and perfect bite.

Hill Country's Hico

Hico is a very small, stocky, very dark brown jack with exceptional conformation.  He has a great topline, perfect bite, wide legset, deep chest and should stay small.  His mother has never had a baby over 30", and all of her sons are herdsires.  His father is Quarter Moon Barney, who has sired many national and international champions. His maternal grandfather is Country Music's Faron Young, the champion Canadian donkey, and his great-grandfather is Country Music's George Jones, who has sired many champions.  He is the sweetest jack we have ever had, and is already trained for the showring.  All the work is done for you!

Hill Country's Black Powder

Hill Country Miniatures Black Powder.  He is a coal black jack with a light nose, that was born June 9, 2005.  He is the smallest donkey ever born here, and he is almost 18" tall.  His breeding is impeccable, with His dam being Country Music's Judy Lynn, a 32 3/4" very dark brown jennet, and His sire is Hill Country Miniatures Liberty, our 32" Coal black jack.  His mother and father are both NMDA champions, and his pedigree includes such donkeys as Country Music's George Jones, Miller's Mr Spock, Rainbow's Blizzard and Hartman's Pete.  He should mature into a nice little herdsire, and if small, black and stocky are what you are looking for, he is the one for you!

Shadow Lake Crescent Moon

Crissy is a sweet, calm, loving jennet. She has a straight topline, nice round rear end, and beautiful long ears. She is a 33" tall jennet, dark, chocolate color and a rare dark nose. Her father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather are all spotted, so she may throw spots. Crissy's ancestors include the famous Rainbows Blizzard, and Cunninghams Moses. Her mother is 30 inches tall and her father is 32" tall.

Hill Country's Mirival

Hill Country Miniatures Mirival is a very stocky, sweet and straight jennet by Quarter Moon Barney (34 1/2" black with cross), and out of Brayers are Us Mirabella (32 3/4" black with cross).  Barney has sired many National and International champions, and Miraval has his wide chest, perfect bite, straight topline and boxy, straight legs. She was born March 20, 2004 and is weaned and ready to go to her new home.

Quarter Moon Sophie

Sophie is a very square, well balanced jennet that is a daughter of Quarter Moon Barney, and has his huge chest and great movement.  She is a very dark brown with huge eyerings.  She is a 7 year old, 34 1/2" tall jennet and is bred to Country Music's Jimmy Dean for a spring 2006 foal.  The marriage of these two great breeding programs is sure to produce a great baby.

Hill Country's Llano

Super friendly, exceptional jack for sale. He placed second in halter at the first show he ever entered the NMDA Show in Corsicana July 26, 2003. He is very loving and trusting, and just wants to please you. He has Canadian bloodlines, with the very famous Rascal of Hooves, and Rufus of Hooves on his father's side. His mother is from the great Old West herd, with the late, great, Faron Young as his grandfather. He is not even 29" at one year of age, so he should stay small. He has a great rump, awesome chest and a Faron Young head.

Schrater's Suzanne

Very sweet and gentle 12 year old, 34" jennet bred to Quarter Moon Barney for a 2004 foal. She is a unusual red roan color, and passes her strong, heavy bone to her offspring (See New Hope below). She is an experienced, easy foaler, who is such a good mother that we use her to babysit our weanlings. She also LOVES small children.

Hill Country's New Hope

Gorgeous red donkey with an exceptionally straight back and super straight, heavy boned legs for sale. Hope is the first one out of the pasture for love, and has great bloodlines with The Fireman as her grandfather. She is reluctantly offered for sale.

Hill Country's Katy Lynn

She is a brown jenny with grey tips on her coat. She has a great, wide chest from her father, Quarter Moon Barney. She is very correct, with a round rear end, and straight legs. She is very loving, and will run down from the pasture anytime she sees you. Katy was born 7/29/03.

Katy will join her mother in Weatherford with the fine herd of Ray and Rene Hernandez. We will see her on the show circuit wish them all the luck.

Old West's Del Rio

Del Rio is a very small, compact jack who is under 29" at 1 year and 3 months of age. He should stay very small. He has a gorgeous head, great topline, very straight legs and a wonderful rear end. His father is the famous Hooves Etc., Rascal, who has won numerous championships in Canada. His mother, Judy Lynn, has also won many honors in Canada. His Grandfather is George Jones, who has sired many champions, and his grandmother, Loretta Lynn, was recently on the cover of the Asset magazine. If you want a small, dark jack with Canadian breeding and a stellar pedigree, look no further.

Del Rio joins Barney as a herd sire for Kris Collins of Rolling Creek Ranch. We know he is looking forward to a great show career and of course, Lots of Jennets!
